 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? University lecturer

Giving less of a s*** what others think!

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? My husband was diagnosed with cancer on 2nd January 2020. He died September 25th 2021. He was 44 and our children were 14 and 17. Previously, in 2012, his twin sister died from a DVT at just 35 years old.
In May 2022 I had weight loss surgery and have lost over 7 stone. Whilst I know that I could die tomorrow, my only risk factor was my weight so I feel I have done everything I can to be here for my children for as long as I can.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? Getting through the last 5 years!!

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? A log fire, friends, a cat on my knee, laughter

WHAT DO YOU TREASURE MOST? My children and my pets

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? Nothing. Live for today, tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. That doesn’t mean spend every last penny or take risks, but if you want to do something and are able to – then do it. My husband only wanted to take the kids to Rome, and to see the sea again. By the time covid restrictions meant he *could*, he was too ill.

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? Two amazing big holidays with the kids – in 2023 I drove from Chiago to LA, and 2024 we went to Costa Rica. The ‘kids’ are now 18 and nearly 21 so our family holiday days are over but we went out in style!

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? More confidence.

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF.  I’m enthusiastic about the things I love/know and hope I pass that on

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? Spiders

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Laughter

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Like yourself. You are enough. Appreciate being slim!

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR FAVOURITE QUOTE? The past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift – that’s why it’s called the present.

AND FINALLY…..HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR 40 over 40 BOUDOIR SHOOT? Had such a good laugh, almost wasn’t bothered about the photos, the process was just so much fun.
