Ageless Over 50 Project  ·  Chapter 6

So - you actually did it!
You Enquired

Yay - You’ve taken the first step — and that’s usually the hardest one. Here’s everything you need to know about what happens next. This is the 6th Ageless Over 50 Project, and places are limited.

“Sharon - You've done again!! I cried … such emotional happy tears When I got home after viewing my photos I opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate, something that I haven’t done for many years. Ladies please believe me , you too can look and feel like this”
Gillian Bane - after her second shoot!
Age 71

Women do this not because they’re confident.
But because they want to be.

01

It’s just you, me and Katie

No audience. No awkward poses you’ve seen on Instagram. No pressure to be anything other than yourself. I photograph one woman per day — that’s it. The whole morning is yours.

You’ll be guided every step of the way, from what to wear (and what not to bother with) to where to put your hands. You don’t need to know what you’re doing. That’s my job. Just try to translate my instructions.  (That’s Katie’s job!)

02

You’ll see yourself differently

Women in their 50s, 60s and beyond are largely invisible in photography. The Ageless Over 50 Project exists specifically to change that — one woman, one session, one set of photographs that show you as you actually are.

Not filtered. Not edited into someone else. You — properly seen, beautifully lit, and looking exactly like the woman you are right now. But the best version of you.  Not the one that’s just crawled out of bed !

03

It means something beyond the photos

Chapter 6 participants become part of an annual charity exhibition raising money for Breast Cancer Now. Five previous exhibitions. Over £11,000 raised. Real women on the walls of a real venue — seen, celebrated, and doing something good.

One image from your shoot is displayed as part of the exhibition, with your permission. Most women say yes. A lot cry happy tears during the afternoon.  It’s emotional and empowering.

what Actually happens on the Day...

If the unknown is what’s holding you back, here’s exactly what your session looks like from start to finish.

1

A proper chat first

Before you get anywhere near a camera, we’ll have a cup of tea (if you’ve brought a driver I’m not averse to opening the fizz!) and a chat. You’ll tell me what you hate about being photographed (everyone has a list- usually starting with their stomach) and I’ll tell you why most of it doesn’t matter. We’ll talk about what you want from the day, and I’ll answer every question you’ve been too polite to ask.

We’ll look through what you’ve brought, add some of our own accessories  (we have dozens of killer heels if you don’t!) and come up with a shooting plan.

2

Getting ready, at your pace

You’ll get changed in privacy. You have your own bathroom with robes to slip into – dignity all the way and a comfy pair of spa slippers. There’s no rush, no pressure, and nobody standing around waiting. Katie will then take over and talk about hair and makeup.  She’s excellent and  won’t slap it on.  She get’s to hear all your secrets!

I only book one client in a day. My studio is in my home — it’s warm, it’s calm, and it doesn’t feel like a photography studio. We have several bedrooms all dedicated to boudoir shoots It feels like a girly get together. Because it is. It really is just big girls dressing up.

3

The shoot itself

I’ll guide you through every pose. You won’t be left standing there wondering what to do with your hands. That’s the point I mention Ballerina Fingers – do join it’s so supportive. I talk throughout, I’ll make you laugh (probably at least once at something slightly inappropriate), and I’ll show you the back of the camera as we go. Katie has this weird trick of rolling her eyes together.  Always gets a giggle.  They’re the best shots!!

4

Seeing your photos

This is the bit women don’t expect. You’ll view your edited images at a separate appointment — properly, on a screen, with time to actually take them in. You choose what you’d like to keep. One photo to take home on the day.  One photo to use at the exhibition.  And the rest? No hard sell, no pressure, no guilt. You buy what you love and what feels right for you. Nothing else.Informal interest free payment plans for those that need them where YOU set the pace

5

The exhibition

With your permission, an image from your session will feature in the Chapter 6 annual exhibition — a proper dress up event, just for the ladies, their families and friends raising funds for Breast Cancer Now. Previous participants describe it as one of the most unexpectedly emotional afternoons of their lives. In a good way.

Consultation

Full consultation along with a detailed session guide so you know exactly what we can provide and what you need to bring. Along with how to prep beforehand.

"Fabulous experience from beginning to end. Can highly recommend this to any woman looking to remember that they are still beautiful. Even if you hate yourself in photos I could almost guarantee that there will loads that you, not just like, but love. ."

—Michele– Chapter 6

"If you're doubting that you have the confidence and courage to do this and you're reading this, don't hesitate to click that submit button! I guarantee that you'll find that confidence when you attend and for a long time afterwards."

— Sharon –Chapter 5

"I cried at the viewing. I didn't expect to see myself looking like that. I am absolutely thrilled with mine. I can't stop looking at them. I feel like a different woman. My self confidence has soared. If this is is something you have been thinking of doing for yourself then I would say don't wait any longer, just do it. I promise you will not regret it. "

— Lesley –Chapter 3

The honest answers

Things you’re probably
wondering right now

I’m not sure I’m brave enough for this.

Good — that means you’re being honest with yourself. Brave enough doesn’t mean fearless. It means deciding the thing you want is worth the bit of discomfort getting there. Every woman who has done a session with me has felt exactly as you do right now. I have not yet had a single person tell me they wished they hadn’t done it.

Why are you so keen to have a phone call with me? I hate talking on the phone!

Yep – me too.  I’ll put the wrong phone number in if I think someone is going to do a sales call on me. I really really understand!  But.  This is a BOUDOIR photoshoot.  It’s personal.  You’ve shared some personal information with me as to why you want to do this.  That matters.  I’m often dealing with very vulnerable ladies.  And you don’t know anything about me.  You probably found me on an ad on Facebook.  I could be anyone.  It could be a scam!!!  So old fashioned me believes the trust starts right now.  With a phone call.  You can suss me out.  Decide if I am your cup of tea.  I have a sense of humour that isn’t for everyone.  But at the end of the day – if you trust me – then when I come to do the photos it will show up in your eyes.  And then the magic happens.  So I like to build the trust at the very beginning.  Not when you walk  through my front door for the first time.

I’m not the right shape / age / size for boudoir photography.

The Ageless Over 50 Project is specifically for women who have been told — or have told themselves — that they’ve missed their window. You haven’t. The women in this project are in their 50s, 60s, and 70s. They have real bodies and real lives. That is precisely the point.

What if I look awful in the photos?

I’ve been doing this long enough that I can tell you — this genuinely doesn’t happen. I know how to light women well, how to pose them well, and how to get a photograph that looks like the best version of you rather than a stranger wearing your face. The viewing appointment is when women usually go quiet. In a good way.

Do I have to take my clothes off?

Absolutely not. Boudoir doesn’t mean what a lot of people think it means. Some women come in a silk robe. Some come in their favourite jeans. Some bring lingerie. Some don’t. Although I’m more likely to cover you up than uncover you. No bums and bits in this studio! It’s entirely up to you, and we’ll talk it through before anything is decided. You are always in control of what’s in frame.

What if I’m too busy / the timing isn’t right?

There will always be a reason to wait. That’s just how life works. Chapter 6 has a finite number of places and a fixed exhibition date — it won’t be open indefinitely. But anyway – once you’ve signed up- I will give you a link to my calendar.  You have until December to get your shoot booked in!

Will my photos be used publicly?

Only ever with your explicit permission. If your images are selected for the exhibition, I’ll ask you first. If you’d rather they were just for you, that’s completely fine and your photos stay private. Nothing is shared anywhere without your say-so.

 What does £250 include?

Your session fee covers your full boudoir experience — the consultation, hair and  makeup, the Session Guide Bible, the shoot, and your viewing appointment where you’ll see your finished, edited images. It includes one 10×12 gift boxed print to take away.  Two tickets to the celebratory exhibition at the end of the project.  You have the option to buy  a £280 enlarged 16×20 print from your shoot at the exhibition for just £65 – that is the money we sent to Breast Cancer Now.  At the viewing you can also choose to purchase prints, albums, or digital images. No obligation to buy anything beyond the session fee, and no pressure from me either way. You buy what you love. That’s it. And there’s a money back guarantee.  Can’t find an image you love?  You’ll be the first as it’s never happened in 16 years of being a boudoir photographer.

I’ve sent the enquiry and now I’m wobbling – is the Ageless over 50  boudoir photoshoot really for me?

Yes – this happens.More times than I can tell you. You are out of your comfort zone (it’s big girls dressing UP – did I mention that??). But you are still anxious.  You probably now wish you hadn’t shared your phone number with me!! And that’s ok. (well – actually I get severe rejection anxiety when my calls get blocked lol)

But to see where you actually are – why not take this simple little quiz.  No right or wrong answers.  Just honest information that may help. And if the end result is it isn’t for you – honestly that’s fine – (let me know so I don’t chase you!)

I nearly cancelled three times. I am so glad I didn’t. Sharon made me feel completely at ease and the photos… I genuinely didn’t recognise myself at first. In the best way.

Chapter 2

You and Katie make ladies like me feel amazing and just for once after caring for my parents and others all my life you reminded me that I was in there somewhere… you showed me the way. Could never thank you and Katie enough

Chapter 5

I kept thinking this isn’t for someone like me. I was wrong. Every woman over 50 should do this. Non-negotiable.

Still interested?

I have your details — thank you so much for taking that first step.

What happens next is simple. We’ll have a relaxed, informal chat where you can ask me anything at all. No pressure, no script, just straight answers so you can decide if this feels right for you.

If you’ve chosen email only, I’ll send a separate message with all the detailed information, and I’ll absolutely respect that preference.

Otherwise, I’ll be in touch very soon via phone or WhatsApp.

If my message reaches you, a quick reply is always appreciated so I know you’ve got it!

If you’ve had second thoughts at any point, that’s completely fine. You don’t need to explain anything. Just ignore this or tell me “not for me right now” and I’ll leave it there with no awkwardness.

A few things that often come up at this stage:

Confidence — you genuinely don’t need it. That builds naturally during the shoot, and I’ll guide you through everything.

Finances — as long as the session fee is comfortable, everything else can be spread with simple, interest-free payment plans, which we can talk through.

Distance — I photograph women from all over the UK. I’m based in Billingborough, near Sleaford in Lincolnshire, but travel is completely your choice.

If you’re still feeling excited, I look forward to speaking with you in the next day or two. My details are below.
