 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I am a sales assistant in Poundland on clothing.

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? I am 56 . With the children grown up and left home ,finding a new you and doing things for yourself .
Getting married for second time, realising what love is and can be.
Also obviously being a nanny and spending time with grandchildren.
Growing old disgracefully lol …tattoos,late nights, karaoke, drink.

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER?

In 1981 aged 12 I was involved in an accident , was in hospital for 16 weeks and enduring surgery on my legs and hips.Had to grow up quickly being away from family and school.

Divorce , again tough but becoming single parent and again become strong and deal with life changes.

2023 I discovered a lump in my breast . Diagnosed as breast cancer, undergoing surgery ,chemo and radiotherapy. Loosing my hair , change of body image, luckily had lumpectomy not masectomy but my mindset of what I looked like dived low very quickly. It has been a long journey to accept the new me. Still further to travel but day by day the new me evolves, my hair returning, different courses supporting me on recovery.
I am so lucky to have a fantastic husband, family and support system that have been by my side, cheering me on and believing in me.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? Kicking cancers butt.
Raising my kids to grow into fantastic , caring adults and great parents.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Long , healthy life with my husband, kids and grandchildren

WHAT DO YOU TREASURE MOST? Time and memories. The word Cancer makes you realise live for the moment as time is precious and can end anytime.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? Win the lottery ideally lol.

To budget for the future, retirement and just incase .

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? Purchasing craft equipment and furniture to fill my craft room 🤪

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? Stop being so tough on myself.

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF? After previous answers I do see life as cup half full, and have a positive outlook.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? Not being there from my children and grandchildren

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Being there in bad times ,good times . Might be a long time between chats and visits but never changing.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Get a pension …..and dont do it lol.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR FAVOURITE QUOTE? I wear my scars like a warrior for they’re a reminder I am alive.
