Mature Women Boudoir – Netta

Introducing another one of our lovely ladies from the  40 over 40 project!

 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I teach English, History, and Literature to some very interesting teenagers.

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? I am 61! The best thing about being this age is…I haven’t discovered the BEST thing yet. It is all quite fabulous–every twinge, every grey hair I colour–everything.

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? I have endured a protracted separation (which lasted longer than it took to amicably divorce😄), which left me a single parent to two fabulous daughters. There have been lonely times and tough times, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Every thing that has happened in my life has made me a stronger woman and much better person–not perfect, just better.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? My children, of course! Two wonderful, compassionate, kind and loving daughters who have grown into such really cool people. They are the best surprises I have ever received.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Happiness is the music of my daughter’s laughter and a sunny day spent pulling weeds and dancing in the garden before getting cleaned up and just getting to the theatre in time to go in stage.

WHAT DO YOU TREASURE MOST? The things I treasure most are my enduring faith, my hilarious family, and my pretty cool life.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? I am not one for making bucket lists, but for you, I will.
I want to be in the cast of a production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf. I would love to be in any August Wilson play. I still haven’t gone on a hot air balloon ride. I want to see Monet’s garden. I want to be in a West End show (or four–and have a long run in each😅). I want to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe two more times!
I would like to do another boudoir shoot when I am 71…81…91…101…😄

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? My greatest extravagance was agreeing to be part of this project!

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? I would be braver in pursuing things I want to do.

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF? I suppose it would have to be my ability to “bloom where I am planted.” I can get along with most types of people–MOST😁.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? My greatest fear? Being too afraid of failure to try.

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? My friends are few, but very lovely people that I value for their honesty, humour, kindness, talent, compassion, emotional support and patience (with me!).

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF? I would tell my younger self to shake off the Negative Nellies and live life on your terms. Love your fabulous self!!

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR FAVOURITE QUOTE? One of my favourite quotes is from Monty Python.and the Holy Grail: “I’m not dead yet! I feel happy!”

AND FINALLY…..HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR 40 over 40 BOUDOIR SHOOT? 😂😂 I can’t believe that I did it! When I look at my photos, I see ME. A lively, vibrant, and even sexy woman who is not a twig! Not bad for an invisible woman
