50 over 50 Project ~ Chapter Three ~ Sue P

 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I used to be a hairdresser it took early retirement in 2019. Lockdown helped with that. It was a natural progression to stop doing it. I’ve had problems with my hands because of my job. Trigger finger, carpel tunnel to name a few. I had to make the decision before it was made for me.

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? I am 53. I think the best thing about being my age is that I don’t really give a damn what people think of me . I have spent years not wanting to upset anyone and letting them tell me what I should do or shouldn’t do.

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? I lost my dad was I was 15, I’ve had ovarian cancer, breast cancer and a year ago I was in a serious car accident,

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? My greatest achievement is being married to my soul mate for 25 years and for having my daughter, Frankie.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Having my family happy.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION? I absolutely adore my husband, Colin. I love our relationship and spending time with him.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? I’ve definitely ticked off 1 off my bucket list by doing this photo shoot !!!
I would love to go travelling.

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? I don’t really spend money on myself.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF?I would change a few things with surgery if I was brave enough!!

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF? I like to think I’m genuine. I am honest and reliable.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?Losing my husband or daughter

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Loyalty, honesty and laughter.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF?Don’t sweat the small stuff

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR FAVOURITE QUOTE? Life is tough my darling, but so are you!!

AND FINALLY…..HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR 50 OVER 50 BOUDOIR SHOOT? I think I’m still in shock. I can’t quite believe i actually did it. It felt very empowering and I reckon I would do it again.
