Introducing one of our lovely ladies from the new 40 over 40 project!

WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I have worked for Tesco since 2003, in many varied roles from stock control to merchandising & currently as a price integrity assistant.
However, in July (shortly after my 60th) I decided that 21 yrs with the same company is enough for anyone, so I now just do a few hours a week & I also work at the care home where my Mum lives.
I absolutely love my time there, in addition to seeing my Mum more regularly, I have also built some great friendships with some of the residents. They have such heart warming stories to tell from their younger years.

If things go to plan I will be retiring from Tesco next Tuesday!

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? I was born on American Independence Day in 1964, that somehow feels better than typing my age.
The best thing about this age is not caring a hoot about what people think of me & doing it anyway!

WHAT DO YOU TREASURE THE MOST? In addition to my family, which is the obvious answer, I have a much valued drawing of myself which our son drew when he was 3yrs old.
I have a disfigured foot & hair which Worzel Gumidge would be immensely proud of, but it was created from my Son’s 3 year old mind & for that reason is priceless!
I was also very fortunate to win a hand painted portrait of the magnificent PD Finn, who was horrifically injured on duty & who is responsible for setting up Finn’s law, which gives police dogs the same protection as a human police officer.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? I don’t have a bucket list, I just do things on impulse which are slightly out of my comfort zone, just like this photo shoot!
Having said that, I would love to do a river cruise along the Danube.
My ultimate dream is to live in Scotland.
