50 over 50 Project ~ Chapter Two ~ No. 38 -Ginny Age 50

WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I work in cybersecurity

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? When I hit 50 I realised that age is really just a number, in my head I feel 24 and have done for years so I’m assuming that is as ‘mature’ as my head will get now 😂

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? Joining the WRAF in 1990 into a ‘male’ profession and not giving up with my career. I completed 22 years and then started a new career at 40.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? Being a Mum when I couldn’t have a child myself, to an amazing daughter who I love with all my heart. She makes me proud with everything she does and she is an awesome woman.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Relaxing with my husband in the sunshine, glass of wine in one hand and kindle in the other.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION? The rings I wear every day. They all have meaning and are irreplaceable.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? I don’t have a bucket list, but I do have a travel list, I’d love to see the Northern Lights

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? My shoe collection! My husband calls most of my shoes “irrational choice” ….they are irregular choice 😉

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? My inability to spell. My husband thinks I’m dyslexic, but at school it wasn’t something that was discussed or checked.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? Car transporters, hate driving past them on the motorway.

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Honesty

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF?Don’t underestimate yourself. And get up in the mornings!!

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR FAVOURITE QUOTE? Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see – Mark Twain.

AND FINALLY…..HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR BOUDOIR SHOOT?On top of the World. Sharon and Katie have magic wands, I left the studio with a smile on my face that actually hasn’t left me!
