 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I am a retired Graphic Designer (once upon a time if your barcode didn’t scan in the supermarket, you could blame me !!??!!)

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? I am 59 (staring 60 in the face early 2025)
Knowing that we lived and survived quite easily without the internet, mobile phones and health and safety gone mad, taking away the joy of mud pies, clackers (yes! you can remember them !!!) and playing conkers.
Learning that it’s just as important to look after me, as it is the rest of the world.

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? Losing my wonderful mum to Leaukemia, then trying to hold my heartbroken father together for the next 4 years until he finally gave up and joined her. Being in a toxic relationship and holding down a stressful job at the same time all took its toll. But losing those close to you sometimes gives you the strength to re-evaluate your life, which I did, walking away from all that was wrong and starting fresh on my own.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? Apart from finally (aged 56) finding Mr. Right…..
DTL Clay Pigeon Shooting was my finest hour, earning a place in the Lincolnshire Ladies Team, East Midlands Single Barrel Champion
and finishing in the top 10 ladies in the World Championships.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Anywhere…….. chilled out on holiday with my husband in our touring caravan.

WHAT DO YOU TREASURE MOST? Happy memories and TIME (live every day as much as possible – life is too short not to enjoy)

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? A horse racing tour of Ireland and to spend many, many more years living life to the full.

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? Shoes……. ( I have my own ‘Shoe Room’)…… is that bad !!!!

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? Stop worrying. I overthink everything unnecessarily.

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF? Kindness (helping others) I do get taken advantage of sometimes but I can’t change

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? Losing my husband (we met late in life and have so much time to catch up on)

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Honest, truthful, funny and the ability to shop until they drop…

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Never settle for second best. Stand up for yourself, believe in your abilities and ignore those who put you down.
