Introducing another one of our lovely ladies from the  40 over 40 project!

 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I’m a road safety trainer.

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? I’m 56 years old and enjoying the wisdom of my years, the confidence to do what I want and still having the energy to do it all!!

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? I think everyone endures some sort of hardships in life. On reflection I think mine have highlighted to me how determined and resilient I am as a person. They’ve also made me more focused on the here and now which in turn has made me more contented. I’m definitely kinder to myself.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? Aside from raising my beautiful daughter….. probably my athletic achievements. Completing the Marathon des Sables was the biggest. It’s a 250km race across the Sahara desert over 6 days. A pretty gruelling challenge but I completed it and I’m the proud owner of one of only 977 medals worldwide awarded to competitors who completed the race in 2007.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Walking in the woods with my family, friends and the dogs.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION? Time. None of us know how much of it we have so make it count.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? Lots of travelling….I want to visit the Gallapagos islands, the sequoia national park, walk the vasari corridor in Florence and take cookery lessons in India

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? I’m not really and extravagant person

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? I’m a bit of a push over and some people do take advantage of that. Being able to say no and not feel bad about it would be a good change

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF? Being kind whenever I can. If you show kindness to someone chances are they’ll appreciate it and will be more inclined to be kind to someone else. Pay it forward and create a ripple effect.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? Absolutely terrified of birds

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Laughing together about nonsense, a solid sounding board and good advice and brutal honesty, they tell me exactly how it is.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Study at school, it’ll pay dividends later in life.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR FAVOURITE QUOTE? Always good to have a plan A,B & C. Remembering, Plan C is generally when you’re flying by the seat of your pants but it’s also most often when you have your greatest adventures.

AND FINALLY…..HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER YOUR 40 OVER 40 BOUDOIR SHOOT? Exhausted but amazing
