 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? Retired

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? 58. Very comfortable in my own skin. (over and above the bits that don’t work properly).

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis for about 15 years. The medications had dreadful side effects. One of them gave me rosacea (burning red skin on my face and chest; none of the treatments worked). People feel they need to comment on my “sunburn”. I’ve learnt to just carry on and do what I can.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? My husband says putting up with him for 30 years. I suspect he may be right.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? Now. Hubs has recently retired, we’ve just finished doing the house up and “age-proofing” it.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION? Good health. I’ve had a lot of bad health and you don’t appreciate it until something happens.

WHAT’S LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST? Northern lights.

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE? I do a lot of shooting and I had an outfit tailored specially.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOURSELF? My growing pouch, but I spose if it got to me that much I’d have dieted.

WHAT IS A TRAIT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF?Loyalty

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR? My growing punch, but I spose if it got to me that much I’d have dieted.

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS? Just being able to pick up where we left off.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF? Stop trying to please everyone and pick a career that you *enjoy*.
