 WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? Teacher for 20 years but now a Trade Union Official for a Teachers’ union

HOW OLD ARE YOU – AND WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE? Im 50 and I love the  freedom to make your own choices, put yourself first.

WHAT HARDSHIPS HAVE YOU ENDURED THAT YOU FEEL HAVE MADE YOU FEEL STRONGER? Depression. I was diagnosed 7 years ago. It changed my life completely. I lost myself in what I could no longer do.I’ve now learnt to accept the depression and live with it, work round it, rather than try and beat it or ignore it.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? That, as a single mother, I bought up my daughter to be a caring, thoughtful, and an independent person.
That I successfully made the transition from being a teacher, which was a way of life, to having a successful career as a Regional Official.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? To feel content with myself and those around me

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION? I try not to treasure possessions. Unless you count my cats. I definitely treasure them.
