At 57 knowing both of our children are now all grown up and happy in their own adult lives and relationships, being a grandma to two of the best grandchildren Lily and Joey and being mortgage free at last!
Losing both my parents. Mum died suddenly in March 2014 at 73 and my dad in November 2017 at 81. Caring for my dad who had MS after mum died, helping him cope at home for as long as we could, then coping with seeing him go into a nursing home, having to sell their family home to fund his care. All very traumatic and those years learning to cope with grief wasn’t easy at all. Now almost 4 years on I’m just beginning to really enjoy life again.
Living with fibromyalgia since 2016 and the pain of osteoarthritis in my 50s can be challenging at times and makes me appreciate health all the more.
Raising two children together and they make us so proud. We have also been together for 40 years this year and married for 36 years. We have overcome many challenging times and somehow remain closer than ever.
Recently losing almost 2 stone in weight in 2021 and dropping to a size 16 from a 22. Feeling healthier for it.
Having my teeth straightened in 2020 -2021.
Learning its never too late to make changes that increase your self confidence.
Just knowing my family are all safe, well and happy makes me happy. Especially when we can all get together.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION
My wedding ring that was also my grandmas ring too.
To move to a bungalow in our retirement.
To have some lovely holidays in different places like the lake district, or the Greek Islands and maybe even see Australia one day.
Our beautiful new kitchen in 2019 – a dream kitchen thanks to a small inheritance from mum and dad. Another reason it’s so special to us.
To be more self confident and less anxious. One of the reasons I wanted to do the Boudoir shoot! To help with self esteem.
I think I’m a very caring individual and always put others first. Being a loving supportive mum, grandma and wife is all I ever wanted to be.
Dying and not being here to help my kids through their grief. One journey we have to face alone is the death of our parents.
Unconditional love and support and honesty
You are as good as everyone else and you can do whatever you put your mind to.
As my dad always told me towards the end….life is for living Pauline ..and ” que cera cera” whatever will be will be.
